Drive Financial ripoff, rude, unprofessional, dishonest, pests Dallas Texas *Consumer Comment ..Did you ever think...

Company
Drive Financial
Address:
P.o Box 660633
Dallas Texas 75356
U.S.A.
Phone Number:

The people that work for the company obviously has no education. The staff is rude and are very, very unprofessional. They make sure they only deal with people who have bad credit so they can charge them a arm and leg for finance charges and then if your late they charge you per day not one set charge but per day. They make harassing calls to your house saying if you don't pay they will come and take your car and you would only be a few days late. I hate this company and I wish my husband knew about this company before getting into business with them. I hope one day they will go out of business and all there rude personnel would become unemployed.

Did you ever think...

... of maybe making your payments ON TIME?? Before you even ask, NO, I do NOT work for Drive; in fact, I am a stay-at-home mom who just stumbled upon this site. But after reading so many complaints about this ONE company, I had to say SOMETHING.

You are right about one thing: Drive does seem to cater to those with lower credit scores. If you had paid your bills on time in the past, you probably wouldn't need them. I'm not trying to be mean - I myself once had a low-ish rating, and I was financed through a second chance company called Centrix. The terms were outrageous - 17% - but my husband and I gritted our teeth, made the payments, and our efforts were rewarded. We paid it off, and now have a loan for 4.9% - BUT WE HAD TO WORK FOR IT! And that meant paying our debt in a timely fashion. All it takes is BUDGETING and keeping in contact with your lender. Are the people at Drive assholes? Probably. But I GUARANTEE they wouldn't be if your payments were made on time. Think about it: They took a big chance on you, and you are obligated to pay them back on THEIR terms; the terms YOU agreed to. Is it fair? No, probably not. But if you pay them, I promise next time you shop for a car, you won't need them anymore. That should be of some comfort to you. You don't need to kiss their asses, but they should be paid. And if their reps are rude, just be polite, and don't return their beligerence - trust me, this will only egg them on.

That said, I know sometimes times are tough, and it's hard to make ends meet. I really hope things have turned around for you since you posted. Also, your post would make more sense if you employed some sort of grammar and punctuation. Just a suggestion.

Courtney...What are you thinking?

Why would anybody who is trying to rebuild thier credit do something silly like make payments on time?

That is absolutely unheard of and totally ridiculous!

Just ask Shearita!

Unbelievable.

Have some sympathy

I agree with all of the statement above. HOWEVER It is very possible for Drive financial to be rude and unprofessional and offer poor customer service even to their clients that do make payments on time. My credit rating sufferred because of a very messy divorce, so as a result, I was only able to purchase a car through Drive financial. At that point, I was happy to do so because I was desperate. Determined to redeem my credit rating, I set up automatic debits from my bank account to ensure that my payments are always on time, and I have never been late in the year and a half since I purchased my car. As a result, I have never experienced harrassing telephone calls, threats of repossession, etc. HOWEVER, the few times I have had to deal with Drive over the phone I have been very upset by the rudeness of their agents. Sadly,I have come to expect this treatment from them whenever I call. The first time I spoke with them, they simply called to verify information on the car I had just bought. My first payment was not due until a month later. The agent basically treated me like a child and like a delinquent customer when I had yet to even have a payment due. I understand what it is like to work for a company that caters to clients with poor credit (I work for a secured credit card company). Just because some of our customers have a poor payment history, it does not mean that we treat them all as if they are below us. We work to educate our customers about ways to improve their credit instead of talking down to them. This is something Drive should work on. The previous commenters should understand that everyone needs help sometimes. Just because you have bad credit, it does not mean that you are uneducated or a "bad person". Some of us are actually trying to better our situation and improve our credit by purchasing through Drive, and they are definately not helping us.

Rebuttal UPDATE EX-employee responds
Submitted: 6/11/2006 1:01:32 AM Modified: 6/11/2006 1:01:32 AM

I was just looking through the site and wondered why so many people would made such allegations. I am a stay at home mom?

To: Courtney
As a stay at home mom {which I don't think for a minute you could read what these people said as an impartial web surfer and jump to defend Drive Financial Services. Please...Either you are stillrying to be a loyal employee who does not have to work in collections. Or, you being a stay at home mom? Which, we all know, how much free time they have. And, just having all that free time, chose to browse the web and just came upon the Remove Rip Off Report and just accidently put automotive finance companies in the scroll down menu out of all the other types of companies that are in here. And, just happened to have free time to read all of this. Oh, and being a stay at home mom took your precious time to respond about a Company that you neither work for nor have an automobile financed with. Please, I am no rocket scientist but either you need to get a life. Or, have a few more kids to help you with all the free time you have. Or, take a really good look at the company you say you don't work for. ha! Anybody else see something wrong with Courtney's little note she just happened to come upon all these reports about this innocent finance company...and then statePay your bills on time...HELLO Courtney you don't need to know how to grammatically set up a letter to know that honest hardworking people are being rip-off. And, I am an ex employee who loved what I did. I was not in collections. But, every word that I have had the time to read in this report is true. I have personally heard, seen and have been a witness to. I worked in Loss Prevention in Calif. for this company and I had knowledge of some major wrong doings so I tried to let someone know and I was let go which I might add was the beginning of the end of the California office. A short time later all my allegations came to light and they closed the doors when the remaining employees who had been assured that their jobs were not in jeopardy came back from lunch one day they were given boxes and told to get your things and return to front desk to get your last check. You see the Bank Of Scotland realized that they were in bed with a band of thieves and didn't have enough mangement they could trust that was not involved In Calif. to remain open. Of course this all started in Dallas and was a trickle down effect from the Ceo to his old buddies from the used car lot they all started at. Yes, they were all used car salesmen, what does that tell you? They practically stole the company from the previous owner they worked her and she caved in. She couldn't take anymore and I am sure being the most decent, fair and honest person she is, Is glad she got out when she did even if she wasn't treated fairly from Tom Brower and his pirate crew.It probably cost her at the time. I am sure she is glad now not to be affiliated with the company she started, because she certainly never would have allowed these things to go on. Drive Financial Services has many skeletons in it's closets and you can be sure that this and much, much more will come to light.
