Make sure you get your hard earned rebate before you close your account. Chase unscrupulously freezes your rebate (probably to entice you to come back) as soon as you close your account. They did offer to give me a $25 courtesy credit for all the rebates I lost in my other chase account. My response? Close all my accounts I will not do business with a dispreputable firm. The other firms may do the same. At least one did. So get your rebates before you close your account. I also notified BP (this was a BP Gas card) that I will no longer be buying their gas. Chase Bank stopped issuing the BP rebate gas cards and since then I got nothign zilch, nada. I had to close my account because my identity was stolen. Chase gace me a new account number, but every time I got a credit, it was put in the old account and it took months of hassles to have the credit applied ot the new account.
