So I got this collection notice from verizon online telling me that I didnt pay 4 months worth of services. Now I connected up a phone line and the DSL at my mothers house so my mother pays the bills. I was alarmed at this statement and immediatly went over to my mom's and asked what was going on. She was just as shocked about this bill as I was. So we both got online and pulled up the payment history and it had showed yes she didn't pay three months worth of services but on the 4th month she ended up paying it all back to the company, a little over a 500.00 bill. So we contacted the online department and they stated that there wasn't a payment made so they transferd us over to the collections department who immediatley just tells me I need to pay this. I told them I was disputing this bill and hung up. I contacted my local and long distance provider, whom also is verizon. They stated that I don't owe anything, nothing for verizon nor anything for online. That the full payment was made. They told me they would contact the dsl department and let them know. Well Here I am in 2007, january and it still hasn't been settled. I discontinued the services in august. They said the reason that the services were continued was because there was a gap in the disconnection and it still allowed it to go through. I told them that was bull and needed to get this straightend out. What do I do now? I'm not paying them another 300.00 to get out of collections but at the same time it is a negative spot on my credit report. Someone please help! Joshua Roanoke, Illinois U.S.A.
