Had fraudulent ACH payments taken out of my checking account. Because they were not physical checks the bank refused to change my account number. Someone is running around doing prepaid credit card fund withdrawals from my checking account and all they would do is dispute the charges. Had someone had a physcical check, they would have immediatly changed the number. Oh well, thieves are going to use the easiest method right, too bad they dont get it. To date, 400.00 worth of debits to fund someone elses sepending have been disupted. Finally got them to close my account, but what they didnt tell me, is that the person can use my visa, savings or loan numbers which are the same as checking with this bank to charge to also. They refused to transfer or close these accounts too. BEWARE---- Your best going to another credit union, even if they do not offer all of the services or locations of this one. They don't care. Julia, you CAN close ANY account you want!

Julia, The bank/credit union cannot stop you from closing any account you wish. Just close them all and go somewhere else. Then file a police report for the unauthorized transactions and a written fraud report with the bank. You have a right to see all of the proof of any transaction made against your account.
